STUDY SUPPORT PLAN
If you declare a disability on your application to Amity, we will ask you to complete a Study Support Plan (SSP) and provide medical evidence of your disability or dyslexia. By completing the Study Support Plan, you will give us a clearer understanding of how we can support you during your studies.
Note for MPhil/PhD researchers: when you complete the Study Support Plan, you will notice that some of the questions relate to taught programmes, but rest assured that we will consider your requirements as a research student. After you complete your Study Support Plan, make an appointment to meet the Disability Officer. At that meeting, you can discuss your circumstances as a research student and identify reasonable adjustments that we can make for you.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO GET SUPPORT
- After you have enrolled at Amity, complete your Study Support Plan.
- Once you've submitted your SSP, we will confirm your evidence and ask you to check that our recommendations meet your needs.
- From there, we will make the academic unit aware of your support requirements. We will also liaise with relevant members of staff to arrange adjustments for you. An example of this would include ensuring teaching is delivered in a way that is accessible to you.
If these aren’t in place when you begin your studies, or your support needs change at any time, it is important that you contact us.
